Heat shrink tubing is used in the telecommunication industry to weatherproof dozens of connections of wires and connectors that are used on the towers. One product used in this industry is the heavy or medium dual wall heat shrink tubing. The 1st wall provides external protection, the 2nd wall that is the adhesive provides waterproof. Heat shrink tubing is also used on wires as a label and/or to print on for identification. It is also used for color identification on wires, the wide range of available colors allow for easy coding. Heat shrink tubing helps when a splice is made providing protection in the outdoor environment. It also helps to better organize wire and cabling.
